Team USA Finishes Olympics Group Stage Unbeaten, Beats Puerto Rico 104-83

Edwards Leads Balanced Scoring Attack

Team USA closed out the group stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics with a dominant 104-83 victory over Puerto Rico on Saturday. The Americans, who had already clinched a berth in the quarterfinals, finished the preliminary round with a perfect 3-0 record.

Six players scored in double figures for Team USA, led by Anthony Edwards' 26 points. Jayson Tatum added 19 points, while Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Donovan Mitchell each contributed 15 points. Bam Adebayo rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points.

Team USA took control of the game early, building a 25-17 lead in the first quarter. Puerto Rico briefly retook the lead in the second quarter, but the Americans responded with a 12-0 run to regain control. Team USA extended its lead to 57-41 at halftime and never looked back.

With the victory, Team USA advances to the quarterfinals, where they will face the second-place team from Group B. Puerto Rico, meanwhile, will play in the classification round.
